Today, people are 'freaking out' over Russia attacking Ukraine. As usual, those who don't understand Biblical prophecy count it unusual.

Russian forces invaded Ukraine on Thursday by land, air, and sea in the largest military attack of one state against another on the European continent since the Second World War.

Russia's all-out attack on Ukraine has killed at least 57 people and wounded 169 during the first day of President Vladimir Putin's full-scale invasion, Ukraine's Health Minister Oleh Lyashko said Thursday. (Fox News)

Another headline reads, “WWIII soon to be enacted by Russia.” Is this true? Folks, these are only birth pangs leading up to a war that will make the idea of WWIII look like a backyard fight.

While you will hear daily updates on the Russian Ukraine war, we, as authentic Christians, need to keep a few facts in place.

While the fuss over the Russian Ukraine is significant, a deeper movement of God unfolds before us.

All global events are strategically placed in God’s prophetic timeline. As a church historian & eschatologist, I am certain that the Russian Ukraine war ignites the prophecy given to us in Ezekiel 38. While some believers default to fear, a better choice is excitement.

There are two primary justifications associated with Putin’s decision. The first is that Ukraine belongs to Russia, and historically, it always has. Putin believes this land belongs to Russia. According to Russian history, he is correct. Secondly, he needs Ukraine to cut a path to reach Israel by way of Gomer (Ezekiel 38:6) – the Biblical nation of Ukraine, which reveals the overall prophecy of the Gog of Magog, the prince of Rosh (Russia). This global event fulfills the prophecy against him, who holds the motive of coming down from the North to overpower Israel.

Yes. We need to pray for our motherland, Israel. According to our orthodox Jewish friends in Jerusalem, they have reported that the Russian Ukraine war is the greatest sign to date that tells them their Messiah is soon to arrive in their land. Since they are quicker to take the Old Testament prophecies more seriously than the western world – their view should be interpreted as the most relevant.

People tend to busy themselves with opinions about global events. In and of itself, it is not such a bad idea. However, when opinionates don’t do their homework by reviewing Biblical prophetic history and the history of the nations involved, well, they come up a dollar short.

  1. The people of Ukraine originate back to Midian, the son of Abraham, through Keturah, Abraham’s second wife (Genesis 25:1-2, 4).

  2. The Bible shows the Midian/Ishmaelites coming from "Gilead," who purchased Joseph as an enslaved person (Gen 37:25).

  3. The Ukrainians are Medianites, Kenites, or people of Gomer. (Ezekiel 38; Genesis 15:19)

  4. "Nevertheless, the Kenite shall be wasted until Asshur (Germany) shall carry them away captive." (Numbers 24:22).

  5. Some believe that Germany may join the war to save Ukraine from the hands of Russia, but only after the Russians wear them down. However, the Russians want Germany back under the Russian Empire as well.

  6. The current crisis with Russia (Rosh, Gog) will cause havoc, economic collapse, and dissolution of Governments.

  7. Now that Germany has scrapped its post World War 2 foreign policy and will take up arms in trouble spots and be more assertive on the world stage, already Germany is asserting itself on the Ukraine.

  8. During this time, the Beast rises, NATO will be a thing of the past. (Isaiah 10:7)

  9. Rosh (Russia) or Gog, according to Habakkuk's vision, "For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans (now Ishmaelite countries – Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Israel), that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwelling places that are not theirs." Gog will partner with the Chaldeans again to consume many nations, starting with the Kenites (Ukraine).

  10. Gog/Rosh needs Ukraine to reach the Ishmaelites (starting with Turkey) to form a peace agreement with their original partners from the story of Joseph.

  11. Once Rosh forms a peace agreement or conquers t
