I Will Cry If I Want To

It's my party, and I will cry if I want to.

Leslie Gore sang those words years ago. I rewrote those words recently for a friend.

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

Cry if I want to Cry if I want to

You would cry too, if it happened to you.

Nobody knows where my joy has gone But sorrow wanted to leave at the same time. Why was I holding its hand to tightly When Jesus was wanting to have it flee?

It's my pity party and I'll cry if I want to. Cry if I want to Cry if I want to You would cry too, if it happened to you.

Pity parties are the soul's greatest enemy. It demands a party that nobody wants to show up to. Why do we attempt to organize such a get-together? Since misery loves company, we invite as many as possible to suffer our demise. The end results? Nobody shows up. So...we host a party with me, myself & I.

The joy of the Lord is our strength. Read the profound words of a Rend song.

Though the tears may fall, my song will rise My song will rise to You Though my heart may fail, my song will rise My song will rise to You While there is breath in my lungs I will praise you, Lord

In the dead of night, I'll lift my eyes I'll lift my eyes to You Though the waters rise, I'll lift my eyes I'll lift my eyes to You While there's hope in this heart I will praise you, Lord

The joy of the Lord is my strength The joy of the Lord is my strength In the darkness I'll dance In the shadows I'll sing The joy of the Lord is my strength

When I cannot see You lift my eyes Let faith arise to You When I cannot feel Your hand in mine Let faith arise to You God of mercy and love I will praise you, Lord
